How you can improve your chances of finding employment with the City of Vancouver

The number of positions you apply for doesn't increase your opportunity of being hired. Every competition is considered separately. We encourage applicants to apply for positions where they meet the minimum qualifications.

Education and training from outside of Canada

If any formal education was completed outside Canada, indicate it on your resume. If it has been evaluated for equivalency, indicate by whom it was assessed.

When you will be contacted

The full recruitment process can take between 6-8 weeks. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted typically within 1 to 2 weeks from the posting close date. You may check your status online anytime by logging in on the careers webpage.

How you will know if your application was received

You will receive an immediate on-screen message indicating that your application has been sent and email confirmation from City of Vancouver Careers.
