Vancouver Public Library

Vancouver Public Library(VPL) has been meeting the lifelong learning, reading and information needs of Vancouver residents for more than 100 years.  Over time, VPL has grown from a one-room library to a system of 21 locations, is the third largest public library system in Canada, and serves 428,000 active members.  VPL is the most-visited major urban library per capita in Canada.  We help build Vancouver’s communities by connecting people to each other and to ideas.

By reflecting the community we serve, VPL continues to provide exceptional public service to our citizens.  Knowledge and experience of other cultures, languages, and perspectives are strengths VPL values in its employees.  In addition to traditional library work, VPL employs staff in Accounting, Maintenance, Shipping, Events, Marketing and Communications, Human Resources, and Information Technology.
