Main Purpose and Function
The Weighmaster I will work as part of a team to carry out a variety of administrative duties supporting the operations at Kent Yards. This position is responsible for performing clerical and associated duties related to the operation of weigh scales, including the monitoring and directing of trucks onto scales and to appropriate dumping areas.  The work includes weighing commercial and city vehicles to determine the net weight of loads; identifying and evaluating the materials leaving or entering the site; inputting information and data into a computer database with correctness and accuracy; issuing weigh slips; preparing daily reports to summarize material quantities scaled; and to ensure the security of weigh scales and site access.


Key Contacts and Reporting Relationships
The position reports daily to the Facility Clerk, and will also liaise with the Data and Operations Specialist and the Kent Operations Superintendent regarding support issues centered on commercial weigh scale operations.


Specific Duties/Responsibilities
•    Directs the flow of trucks onto scale and to proper dumping location. 
•    Correctly identify materials delivered and leaving the site
•    Maintains accurate Branch operations databases.
•    Tabulates records and maintains clerical records relative to operations, and issues weigh slips 
•    Performs related work as required.


Minimum Qualification Requirements
•    Completion of the twelfth school grade.  
•    Some related experience in the trucking or cartage business or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
•    Knowledge of SAP, Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access programs is an asset.
•    Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment.  
•    Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with truck drivers and explain applicable regulations as required.
•    Ability to work a variety of on-call shifts including weekends.
•    Successful completion of Occupational First Aid Level 2 training is preferred
